Mothering Thoughts

Will it be another of those days?Where looks are frayed, giving wayTo another mind game day,Little said but responding with, grunts and sarcastic frowns,Age of consent topically debatedArgument ally played down, Will we have another of those nights –?as you sit down for tea,Hormones menu’d flambéed,Accompanied with condescending looks,          Expression-ally served, displayed,By storm raged adolescence clowns,Thoughts tossing and tumbling around,Mindlessly jiggering to spark another play, Will it be another of those –?Fingers tapping, chorused, tittering,Succumbed with moans and groans,Groaning frustrations giving way toExpletives, face’s pulled, accompanied by, “Yer right whatever can I have” – (No I’ll cry)“Yer but, Yer but”,   (ask your bloody Father)Will be my reply,“Oh Mummm”, (I can hear then cry),Not fair, why can’t I, why can’t,“I want I want”,“I know what you’ll dam well get” (will be my reply), “O…..h but you just don’t understand”, (yer right)Sulking chins dragging on polished floorsTo Clanking of bedroom doors,Distant cries of, “I don’t love you any more” And before I can count to three,“Mum, mummy” “yes dear” (I can hear me say)Hmmmmm, really,-Do I really want to go home today?Or shall I pull over and let time drift away,

Hi Peter..

sometimes it makes you want to just run away.. but then ... you'ld miss all the good times... life is filled with those moments of dreading the inevitable...its the surprises that keep me going.. I know what you mean in this write.. I can relate to being the bad guy dad..the enforcer who is told stuff like I hate you, and more and it seems never ending..but then there are those times you see it working...and you know. Richard

Hi Richard

wasn't to sure where i was going at one point, But the idea was to just portray a tipical situation and let others see in it for them selves, I'm sure most parents could relate, Thanks Richard for reading, Peter ~~~~~~~~~Creativity Is to think more efficiently~~~~~~~~~~

Peter

Well - unfortunately, since I'm not a parent, I can't quite relate. I have had the cat snub me on various occasions - usually because I did something to her that she didn't like. (clean her ears, brush her teeth) and she gave me the cold shoulder for a few minutes. ~Jess ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ~ "Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the hell is the ceiling??"

Are you trying to say, that you never had the teenage strops, geeeeeet out of it, I'll ask your mum, would she paint a different Pic? As i remember Cats can have the hump for sometime... Peter ~~~~~~~~~Creativity Is to think more efficiently~~~~~~~~~~

Quite so

No teenage strops with me, my friend, I was a good little girl. I'd-a been out on my ear if I wasn't :~) As for the cat, I've been forgiven until the next time. I think she secretly adores all the fussing over her, but she won't admit it. (grins) She only pretends that it's a big ordeal to be brushed, have her teeth brushed, and her ears q-tipped every week. Hope you have a beautiful week, my friend. ~Jess ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ~ "Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the hell is the ceiling??"

Yes, yes, do ...

pull over. The break'll do you well. Give you rest ... and recuperation ... and perhaps a little strength for the next few steps to come. It occurs to me that Americans would do a whole lot better if they learned their English from you British folks. It's apparent that American English just isn't being taught. Not anywhere. At all. Hi Chuck

I Detect that pull over has a different meaning? Or have I missed your point, I tried to maintain a thought as appose to a rant, but as seen lost the identity I've gone from him to her; I think that I will have another go at this at another time, Thanks for stopping by.... Very Best Regards Peter ~~~~~~~~~Creativity Is to think more efficiently~~~~~~~~~~

My reference is ...

merely my sort of tongue-in-cheek (friendly jest?) answer to the question in your last line, the "shall I pull over" part. I'm responding, in my above comment, to your experiential context, not the structure or quality of the poetical write itself. I'm usually appreciative---as I am here!---of attention paid to the smaller things of life, at least those that seem so ... but really do loom rather large when noted with proper (mature?) perspective. Details---and minutia---do, after all, matter. Thanx again, Chuck

I think...

(And correct me if I'm wrong, Peter) What he's asking is that should mummy pull over and let daddy take over. Sort of like pulling a car over. Love the new photo of Buster! He's just standing there like "that's right! I'm pretty! Take my picture!" ~Jess ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ~ "Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the hell is the ceiling??"
