A Savior of Souls

When we have reached the summit
                                                of the untamed mountain,
and the welcome winds caress our face,
we realize we are a savior of souls.

                                              We find out after ascending,
                                                 that redemption lies not
in the mortal minds below us,
nor in eagles wings above us.

                                                        It will live,instead
in the fiery determination of our being,
                                               overtaking weary climbers
who lose faith in their journey.

                                                    And we will possess
                                                 the limitless will to brave
not only the jagged steps in our view,
                                           but the higher mountain beyond.

Did you mean "abominable?" And if so, why? The logic of your poem demands an explanation. Yours in peace, Synchro

response to A Savior of Souls

Yes,Synchro,I meant abominable.I wanted to find a word for the"mountain"that would mean larger or incredibly huge,as the mountain is symbolic of the problems we face.Thank you for reading, and i will try to revise that poem a little better.
