I have sat at the heel of your life
waiting for the words to come.
i would steal the corners of your wisdom

    peering through its occasionally
 rosy windows.

        you stood against
    some ancient mess,
    walked lightly.  history
coursing through.

the best words (discreet after the years)
   I could find for you
         are   " something is waking.
               don't stumble"

I love the line.. I would steal the corners of your wisdom.. your poem is good.. but vague.. leaves the reader wanting more. liked it very much..smiling.. don't stumble.. yes .. Richard

Sometimes you read

a poet's words, and store them in your brain, knowing at some future date they will be perfect to repeat....these of yours....are what I mean... the best words (discreet after the years) I could find for you are " something is waking. don’t stumble" Thanks for posting this. Pleides
