Atlas Shrugged

Lost,
Atlas shrugged and the weight
Fell upon my shoulders,
I am blind
Homer and Rodriguez
Grope along with me
Though I am well-traveled,
I have no home to return
And the plaintive oboe of my soul
Floats through blissful reeds along the Nile,
Spain deserts me
In the alabaster sand
my stallion runs free,

I am tethered
To the elemental earth,

To the seaweed.. to the foam.

This is good!

Might have a few people scrambling for their history/literature books, but there ya go. Thanks for the compliments on the tag lines - the first one was borrowed, the second is a twist on another that I had come up with. Welcome to the site (again?) btw, if you have problems with the site, you can always email Andrew (look for his profile, I think he lists his email in there) as he's the technical guru. :~) ~Lynn (Jess K.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ~ "Bush is listening.... use big words!" ~ "Your inferiority complex is better than mine..."

To the seaweed..to the foam

Such a compelling image of being tied to the vicissitudes of your corporeal existence Anna. I loved this poem I must say. Weighed down, blinded and adrift but still your stallion runs free..even if tethered I feel he slips his reins when he wishes to. lol. As Lynn says, you should message Andrew to help with your login problems. Keith

Ahhh. so. It is a great

Ahhh. so. It is a great feeling to be a poet, though the poem may be critiqued, one's feelings seldom are... Not like in the REAL world... Thanks all for your comments.
