Devouring Innocence (Edge)

Devouring Innocence

He is that creature
Of unrest and corruption
Sweeping down from
His mystery shrouded fortress
On the dark side of the moon
He surges forth
At the climbing of the moon
When his hunger and thirst
Surface at their peak
With the face of an angel
He is a soul sickened monster
Prowling the streets
The bowling alleys
And the barrooms
For delicacies of innocence
Who may have strayed
Out over their heads
Looking for excitement
He seeks the shy ones
Those young women
New to the nightlife
The ones who are both
Inexperienced and unsure
Once chosen
He sights on this special prey
Separates her from the flock
He feeds on her insecurities
Like tasty appetizers
Filling her head
With a sense of false security
Supplying her heart
With candied lies
Of artificial promises
With quick and pleasing wit
Letting her lead him
Back to her place
Where dim lights and candles
set the scene for seduction
With devoted determination
He leads her to her bed
Where they are meant
To only cuddle and kiss
With practiced lips
Brushing her soft perfumed skin
Dedicated hands that move
Slowly to caress and tantalize
Straying into forbidden zones
In her state of
Heightened excitement
She reaches for him
As he denies her nothing
He adds the tally
Of her first time to the score
He dresses in darkness
Leaving her to her wounded thoughts
Partially sated by her surrender
He hits the streets again
Looking for his main course

I think it might be the thought of getting that close to something so dark and dangerous. Or maybe she feels that she can reform him. Thanks for your suggestions (before being posted) and your critique... most helpful! Edge

OUCH

You paint the picture of the sexual monster who preys on innocent women so well - I bet you have run across him in the past - I know I have seen him -lurking - alone in bars - dashing and witty - adding young hearts to his notched headboard weekend after weekend. Great job with this - you did well - he feels like a dracula of sorts -very gothic yet modern and the sadistic aura was very fitting. Sincerely, Amara
