In Paradise,I Hide
With my bat and glove in hand
I walk a childish stride
to play games serene
on a field of green
In this paradise,I hide.
On the diamond paths do I run
while the angels, they tell me to slide
I put feet to my base
In amazing grace.......
Then I laugh in a joyous pride.
Is not peace all in this that I play,
so my love of life may grow?
if there dwells wasteful shame
in this wonderful game....
Only heaven will tell me so.
So in coming years when I am old
and I have slowed my childish stride
I will think serene
back to fields of green
where in Paradise,did I hide.
I walk a childish stride
to play games serene
on a field of green
In this paradise,I hide.
On the diamond paths do I run
while the angels, they tell me to slide
I put feet to my base
In amazing grace.......
Then I laugh in a joyous pride.
Is not peace all in this that I play,
so my love of life may grow?
if there dwells wasteful shame
in this wonderful game....
Only heaven will tell me so.
So in coming years when I am old
and I have slowed my childish stride
I will think serene
back to fields of green
where in Paradise,did I hide.
