Raven-fall

Raven-fall

Soon enough...
I see them,
The fly-away tendrils
Of shadow-creepers,
Curling out
Of the dusky, graying
Corners to sweep
The edges of my
Murky visions.
Curling, smoke-puffed
Pinions of night wings
Pressing by...
Closing my tired eyes,
Giving in to the darkness,
I see them more clearly,
As fearlessly they fly
Against the paper
Thin lids of flesh,
In the shade
Of the shadow,
Glancing over me,
Each alive...
With a secret life
Of their own!

That is really cool. I wonder if one of mine will ever be published. How does that happen anyway? Sincerely, Mark

Thanks, Mark!

To get a poem published is usually allot of hard work. First be sure that your poem is in the best form possible. Then buy the book: 2008 Poet's Market by Nancy Breen. This book has over 1,600 listings for magazines, presses, journals, contests, and workshops. It also provides information on where and how to get your poetry published. You can find it at your local large bookstore or on line at Amazon.com. The book is well worth the price if you are serious about getting published. Thanks for reading my poem. Always, Cat

thanks, Cat! (Jai purrs her thanks, too)

Yeah, she's my world, that little 'un is. Hard to believe she's gonna be 7 this year already! Don't let her irritated look fool you - she's a limelight stealer, and loves every second of it. :~) ~Jess ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ~ "Bush is listening.... use big words!" ~ I don't SUFFER from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it!"

As this has already been published no sense to commenting on content congrats on getting into the magazine otherwise I would have suggested cutting down on the descriptive words sometime to many get in the way Chrys

Thanks for your congratulation. I guess the magazine liked it just the way it was, so I'm not going to change it. Thanks for reading. Always, Cat

Congratulations

to you Cat, and it is a very well structured and thought provoking poem I might add. Once something is published i guess you may not be considering any changes but the only thing that i felt slightly uncomfortable with was repetition of "shade" and "shadow". Perhaps something like "under cover of the shadow"? Just a thought. Always Keith
