Three Poems That Mean Absolutely Nothing To No One

1.

Nothing Comes Out Fighting

Go ahead, tell me there is no such thing
as a void,
you know me, the Mistress
of Origami,
I make paper accusations
fit like a proper dunce cap,
but
let me play with the words
and reshape them a bit
and call it my Great Avoidance Technique,
I’m tired of falling into nothing
trouble is
I get way too much satisfaction
even if it is only theorized
and I am marginalized,
see,
I’ve never been able to paint
in the lines or paint-by-numbers,
tongue in cheek,
groove in the rut,
“when the bell rings,
keep on swinging”,

I’m just no good
with nothing,
pretty much worthless
in the grand scheme of
things being as they are.

2.

Damn Birds!

Damn birds,
damned lusty birds,
it’s Springtime,
and I’ve been waiting
all winter long for….what?

I admit it,
I’ve misplaced
my sense of irony this early
in the morning,

God, and her one-woman show
never can get that
"Is That All There Is?"
song right,

and every bird-brain knows the tune
but me,
I’ve been too busy molting,
learning how to fly with borrowed time,
that juicy worm
still in the apple,

the Eve of me,
pretending to be a serpent
from hell,
I make small chirping sounds.

3.

Well, She Thought To Herself...

Well, she thought to herself,
i've tried it once twice and many-a-time,
i'll never get this loving thing quite right,
never make a freaking word align.

i fall in and out of love, no wonder
i forget who's who in my little red book,
damn poets,
damn ninjas
and samurai,
and white-faced Geisha saints
and holy lies,

damn the crows and the windcatchers
and the skyscrapers and the chambers of
the heart,

too thin, too noisy, too brave,
too pale, too big, too eager to part.

You’re a deer, dear. I

You're a deer, dear. I suppose writing poetry is much better than hitting the bottle, the dog, the streets, and/or oneself. (I gave up cigarettes many years ago;-) Catharsis, thy name is poetry. That's how I opened a poetry reading last Friday. Pax, ~a
