The Love Trail

He comes home from work
to his quiescent beauty
fast sound asleep upon her bed

With soft whispers, gentle caress
he awakes her from her slumber

They walk the trail of paradise
hand in hand enjoying the trees
and flowers along the way

A pond just ahead in view
standing in his arm
they watch the birds fly above

The turtles pop his little head
the swan buried his beak
under flowing sapphire waters

Standing in his arm
he softly kisses her neck
watching the sunset on the other side

A special place of healing
from a long tiresome day
shut up in the house

i liked this one very much.

i liked this one very much. i understood the line "standing in his arm", when i read it i instantly saw my husband and myself when i stand in front of him and he wraps his one arm around me (usually around my shoulders) and pulls me in tight to him. this poem has a peaceful feel to it, a great place to be with the one you love after a just plain yucky day. very nice - thanks for sharing.
