The troubled Writer

I can feel her,

Just under the surface,

The creator

Waiting to emurge.

She lies in  wait.

For what; I am unsure.

Only she knows.

But I can feel it won’t be long.

Her unveiling will be -

Sudden, I know.

Taking forever to reveal herself

to me.

My mind’s eye.

My alter ego.

My passion.

My writer.

She was damaged before

and went into hiding

Became defensive and

Unsure of herself.

I’ve tried to coax her out of her cocoon.

I’ve gotten teasers pieces from her.

Leaving me longing for more.

Her return is nearing.

With love and reassurance,

Encouragement and inspiration

She’ll leave her longtime comfort zone

And blossom with brilliance.

Her passion expected to bubble over

Her words will be filled power

Her feelings exposed for all

Her heart and soul naked to be seen.

I will be her vessel

She will lead the way

She and I will grow strong together

Living out our dream of writing.

about six - what's the maximum? wrote some last night. ideas are running like wildfires through my head! sometimes i have so many i spin in every direction trying to get them all down in concrete. decided today to get a 5 subject notebook and carry it with me all the time. get most ideas when laying in bed, or driving in a car. in bed is a bitch cuz i'm usually too tired to do anything with them...in the car i usually can't read my own handwriting - especially the way herbie drives :P she's waiving her digits at you btw! love you too deb

thanks richard.

if this all boils down to writers block, well then i've had it for years. however since niki and i have become closer over the past few years, i've noticed a change in me. i really looked deep inside and have been gut wrenchingly honest. for me it isn't slow down, it's let go and do it. that's why i like this site. i learned quickly that everyone has a different opinions and views of everything, and it is okay for me to be different. i was worried about doing it the right way - i'm my own worst critic. i need to let the critic go and writer write. i have read your opinions on niki's writes and am going to add you to my buddies so i can read your work. i look forward to hearing more from you on my other pieces. thanks for the encouragement and for taking the time to read my stuff.

I feel lucky when my muse pays a visit,

I think your muse should consider herself luckyto have you cheers, Jess "A poet's work; to name the unnameable, to point at frauds, to take sides, start arguments, shape the world and stop it going to sleep." Salman Rushdie
