Bittersweet

she laughs to hide her pain
she won't let you see her hurt again
she learned through the years, not to trust
go ahead, and mock her, if you must

he drinks to hide his sorrow
reluctant to face tomorrow
he wonders what it is that he can't see
and he cries, oh what is the meaning of me

where do you go to hide
  this pain you feel inside
and you cannot find a friend
who'll stick by you to the end

life is bittersweet, cause you see it
in the eyes of all the people you meet
It seems they've all lost their way...
and no one knows anymore, what to say

why do people lie...
and laugh when you cry
no feeling in their souls...
it takes work to be whole

nothing matters anymore...
my heart's so empty, it's sore
so what if you hate me...
Just get away, and let me breathe

you won't get near this time
go away, get out of my life
next time, you better look behind you
when you come after me with your knife

where do you go to hide
  this pain you feel inside
and you cannot find a friend
and you feel the sadness'll never end

  life, my friend, is bittersweet,
it angrily roams the dirty streets
  looking for someone to destroy
twisting itself like a broken toy

yeah, life is bittersweet, cause you see it
in the eyes of all the people that you meet
it seems we've all lost our way
and we don't have anything else to say

it seems we've all lost our way
and we don't have anything left to say

The emotion and strength of

The emotion and strength of character come through clearly. This reads like a song with the repetition, and read out loud it has that lyrical flow - I would love to hear this put to music. Its good to see you:-) Kaz It's impossible to smile on the outside without feeling better on the inside.

Thanks...

Hi Kaz, These are song lyrics. We are putting music to a few things that I've written. It's good to be here...it's been a while. Thanks for commenting, Kaz. Cathy

The lyrical touch is noticable

the last stanza really got it for me. Some children long for even broken toys to play with. Good to see you posting Cat. In ink, Dabbler

sorry guys...

This time I voted for myself... sometimes you just have to believe in yourself, and since this is hard for me to do...I just practised. Cat
