Pretty Girls' Dance

Pretty girl dance, skip to springtime songs
falling, sliding upon the spiky leaves
she laughs and giggles
as spiny tips touch her supple skin

She jump to her feet with a quick dash
to see spring flowers in the meadow afar
a shriek parts her lips
as the grass lops off between her toes

Her spring outfit white as snow
swings from side to side in the gust of air
the breezy wind refreshes her humid body
as her dark hair flutter in the airstream

She runs in delight under sunny skies
watching mama bird feed her young atop an apple tree
her bedroom window memories of a chilly winter gone
as the bees pollinate fields of wild flowers

Pretty girl dance, recite canto of songs
spinning around and around to the ground
she sings her favorite chorus line
with the birds’ soft chirps of springtime

im wondering what does pretty happy girl feels with the grass under her feet that wind that stirs the petals and bends the new grasses what memories wash away the dreary scorn of winter awakened hot and fresh under the filling sun this poem is very descriptive though and flows along nice i just personally want to get to know her better but thats me O

Your poem has brought back memories of being a young girl and how it felt to be dancing in the wind just before a storm. I felt that if I twirled fast enough that I might just be able to fly. What a thrill it was to be carried along by the wind. This is what I like about most of your poems... they evoke such wonderful memories in me. Always, Cat

Thanks Cat

I am glad you enjoyed it so much. I was thinking about a some pretty little girls I knew when I wrote a few years ago, they were always happy and I decided to put them here in poetry. I like O idea and wanted to bring it here without changing the theme. Hope you still like it just as much. I really appreciate your wonderful comments. Smiles:) Barbara

Your comment is really appreciated I work all day on this taking breaks in between to get the right image and feel of girls in springtime enjoying life as I did growing up in the country with nothing but trees and woods. Houses far apart, not like today where homes are close together. Thanks again for your comment. Smiles:) Barbara
