A lover's Goodbye

Oh don’t you shed a tearPlease stay strong my dearThis here heart in my chestWishes you only the very bestProlonging this will only cause painIn this life as friends we must remainYes, I know the pain is too much to takeDarling be on your way for heaven’s sakeI can’t stand the sight of seeing you like thisAs I try to forget the taste of your sweet kissHeaven will have a place for this love that we shareOh darling for this type of pain I can’t prepareAs you walk to new horizons please don’t forgetThat your flawless beauty can never be my regret

The goodbye

Yes love is hard to let go in any situation. I could feel the emotion of you wanting to let go but holding on at the same time. Good-byes and love is so hard to deal with! But who would we be without it? Good Poem

Hello Paul

I like the basic theme of the poem, but I feel the rhymes are a little stiff. I'm sorry but I have no suggestions. Keep writing. Cat

I tend to agree with Cat on this one. The feeling that the words have been forced out onto the paper distracts me from following the meaning; nothing is evoked. Keep reading it and working on it. I'd be happy to help via email. ~ Ronda
