I Like My Things in Boxes

I like my things in boxes

With special labels, row on row,

My life all separated

In a cardboard fashion show.

With folder and divider,

Polly pocket – in a file.

Nothing quite like being anal

And organised all the while.

I've seven different systems

To sort my odds and ends:

Size, colour, shadow and lint,

Straightness, value and bends.

And I'm happy once it's finished

Everything right and so,

For I like my things in boxes

With special labels, row on row.

Just Marvelous

Barbara Writes

I really enjoyed reading this from beginning to end.

everything needs to be organized for me to function well

no need to wonder where it right there

see no need for changes.

I have passed this on to my

I have passed this on to my girlfriend, who promises to read it as soon as she is done colour-coding her files. Seriously. She is the queen of anal, and you have her down pat.

If only life could be organised into boxes

Some prankster decided to put a picture of a pair of hands dissappearing into a sea of paper on my office door so from that you can see just how organised my colleagues think i am .lol. I did once give an inspirational speech on how much work and reading went into the prepartion of each of my public lectures and invited the audience to imagine the 60 odd box files of reference materials i had gathered to give my 25 offerings to them....they seemed very impressed although it would appear i still have to learn myself from the experience. I enjoyed the poem very much Kieran and yes I agree it was also a fun read even if there is a serious component below it (did i say I was a Psychologist by training?....but thats another kind of box i managed to escape from). OM Goddess!

You have just described ME! I used to be so bad that if someone made the bed for me and it wasn't just so, I would tear it down and remake. I'm not that bad anymore, my husband has relaxed me quite a bit. Wonderful poem, I laughed and laughed while I read it! Always, Cat

My wife says you're the bomb

I read her this poem this morning and she smiled and smiled. She is a total cleanomaniac and organizer. You have added a new member to your fanclub. RT

nothing wrong in being organised!

I am kind of a neat freak too and so identify with this. All I can say is,you organised a comedic element into a very neat use of words. :o)
