Baby's Callin' Me Home

I was once lost at sea,
and I heard not a thing,
except for the way that the mist penetrated my mind.
My baby was callin' me home.

I once stood on a mountain top,
and the wind circled my knees with it's breeze.
But, with such a view,
all that I could hear...was my baby, callin' me home.

There's absolutely no disguizing, or denying it.
Even, if both of your phones are off...
..she knows...and knows how to tug at your heartstrings...
..and your baby's callin' you home.

It can drive a good man insane,
but one must realize.
If your baby's callin' you home
then, that's where you need to be.

My baby has both of my numbers,
as if she'd ever call.
But, if she ever does...I'll let you know.
For, I can only hope...that my baby'll call me home, soon.

Doc, that was beautiful.

Doc, that was beautiful. There's a few errors and the flow is a little off in places, but I honestly wouldn't change anything, the emotions come through perfect, I think the small errors help with this it. It has human feeling, something which can be hard to get in a poem sometimes. Well done, really enjoyed it. Kieran "Mind, how you go!" - Roger McGough's poem for LSD Awareness Week

kieran...

..i see what you mean, about the errors. i was trying to get a "distracted" feeling in it, too. guess i distracted myself, along the way. Thank you so much for the feedback, and the compliment. you are now another "diamond in my eye". doc.
