turn.

I am only tired of the sinking
the subtle decline
the slow rot

flesh can only hold so tight
and bones never ask.

When I looked up

after I parked my car to see a skunk all shiny clean from the night rain feeding in the snow covered lawn and watched it for a minute then got out of my car we looked at each other for another minute. Maybe we were wondering what we wanted to say, hello, and of course me being me I did. I turned and walked away and it continued to feed. I can't think about rotting things or flesh falling off bone right now but your poem or rather that there was a comment attracted me and I doubt anybody can say it better than Cat :) May I add - true poetry ! thanks!

always a pleasure to see you drop by, Mark. I want to thank you for the spontaneity there, what an image. Reminds me of something I've read once.
