Intended Purpose

I was in jeapardy

yet, surrounded by friends.

Little did I know how valuable was this interaction.

For forever will I be impressed with their collective integry,

and for eternity will I be the one to realize...

..that really, I am not worthy,

will never be completely able to reciprocate,

and can only dream of a chance to be as gracious and understanding;

for to lose this friendship would only subtract from my own worth...

..and this I cannot afford.

For life is short,

and many times, so are my patience.

So I digress.

Because now I understand my place amongst today...

..and that's where I mustn't offend,

carefully befriend,

and remain consistant 'till the very end.

After all, I know not why I deserve this commaradie,

or this blessed nature that magnifies the "light".

What Life intends,

is for us to become better human beings...

..and for us to grow and mature...

..and that alone, will be our greatest legacy.....and reward.

Continuing to grow

Hey Doc, hope you been well. Intended Purpose is a great title to a wonderful philosophy on life. We all need to keep this poem in mind it is important. Written in the language of wisdom it is pleasant. It moves pleasing - did you mean, For life is short (sort)? I feel the first two and last two lines as a stanza in themselves - nice Doc. It's all good ! Mark

...growing pains..

....I must admit. Other than that, I'm not doing so bad. No complaints.....nobody wants to hear them, anyway. I appreciate you and your keen insights. If I could trouble you, I'm having problems of late, comming up with viable topics. Am I in need of a "muse"? Or is this stagnent period related to "writers' block"? Anyway, thanks for being there for me. Until we type again, doc.

Not sure Doc

The mind does get tired and need a break sometimes. It hapens to me. Writer's block is rather obvious (I desire to write but just can't bring a thing to mind) Some people write about writer's block when they have it and it can help. A muse is a muse, it tends not to go away. Mine never has. Searching for new muses might be an idea then ya have more. I have several. Mark

HI Doc. Its good to see you

HI Doc. Its good to see you posting. I enjoyed the flow and the way this reads. I also think the use of ... works really well. I felt I was hearing your thoughts as you wrote/thought them. There are a couple of tiny editing points that might be worth checking. and many times, so are my patience. Did you mean 'is my patience?' also consistent needs editing. There may be more. Sorry to nitpick:-) These closing lines are great and I can relate to them closely:- What Life intends, is for us to become better human beings… ..and for us to grow and mature… ..and that alone, will be our greatest legacy…..and reward. Absolutely :-) Kaz It's impossible to smile on the outside without feeling better on the inside.
