Dementia

As I see darkness with its lurking leer

I feel a shiver of incoming fear

I know my horrors and terrors are very near

I hear them with their stalking, they creep

I feel mortified as they start to seep

My sanity I'm trying to keep

But for losing that, I'm well known

Losing sanity is something I'm prone

But why can't my horrors leave me alone?

I feel my fear start to arise

It's too cunning to let me by

Something in me slowly dies

As I whimper in terror and moan and whine

The horrifying thing I've come to find

My horrors and terrors are in my own mind.

Hello

I can very much relate to this piece as I have my own inner demons, most people do. I very much liked the style in which this poem was written. Good job. Cat
