You'll need more than words

Barack ObamaI hope you're the oneI hope all your wordsAre not just for fun I hope you'll keep your promiseAnd really bring changeBut, if you don'tIt won't be strange I hope you won'tStop dead in your tracksWhen it's time to decide If you'll break those caps No one can denyYour power to inspireBut, I hope you have moreThan just a desire You've captured our hopesYou've captured our dreamsBut, now I'm worriedYou're less than you seem Maybe you canBring us togetherBut, we're certainly notBirds of a feather You've told us it's timeTo stop following the herdBut, sooner or laterYou'll need more than words Your passionYour visionWe've all heard it nowBut, what will you sayWhen we ask you how? Her constant attacksLeave me disjointBut, I have to admitShe does have a point!

Simple verse

The simplicity of the verse builds on the title, in my opinion. I leave the rhyme to others because it has never held any sort of attraction to me; it is actually often a distraction because so many people make the mistake of rhyming just for rhyme's sake. Not to say that you're doing that here! Just trying to explain why I don't usually comment on rhyme. And babbling, apparently! It's a nice flowing piece and I did enjoy reading it! ~ Ronda
