Passions of our Dusk

Older now, we embrace our lives

with creative hearts and

worldly designs of learning.

We hungry eyed artists seeking

sculptors of early yearning,

our passion sweeter than laughter.

attentively clinging

to sun-warmed pearlescent smiles.

In these senior years,

we are creatures of everlasting hope,

secretly longing for the past

days of wild-spirited bliss.

We adventurous lovers all,

dream of expeditions to discover

in the steamy untamed jungles

of our youthful imaginations.

The heady spice scented heat rising

from the vortex of forbidden zones,

while in our minds eye we are

playing tag with the tides

on the sandy beaches of our

desired lover's dreaming!

passions of our dusk

I soon will be fifty years old and have silver white hair coming in but I too remember the years of my twenties the laughter and songs travelling free with a girl on my hip sweet words to whisper I see old people holding hands all the time up here in my City (north bay ontario canada..right on good ol lake Nippy home of absolute beautific sunsets..) I think old love is rich and full of savour and flavour like brandy aged in fine oak (mmmmmmmmmmmmmm) well at least I'm hoping and looking forward to this!!!! great viewpoint great Poem!! O

Thank you

Thank you for all of your input and your title suggestion. I'm so glad that you agree with my belief that just because we get older, it doesn't mean that we dry up inside. I loved your colorful comparison to brandy aged in fine oak! You made my day! Candlewitch (Cat)

Dreaming with the voice of experience

Great poem Cat, although i for one would not want to return to my youth, I prefer the age of experience and have more dreams and passion than i ever did then...still seem to make as many mistakes too although with age you are unfortunately expected to know better.lol. Keith

LOL!

Yes, we are expected to know better with experience! I don't think I would want to relive my youth, but I wouldn't mind having that kind of youthful energy and zest to borrow from. It is always nice to read your thoughts. Cat

I'm not sure about the phrase "creative hearts" or the last two lines which are not as strong as what preceded it but a delight nonetheless. -rp
