I Dream Too

When you look at me what do you see
What's in your face
Or what's inside of me
Every day I stand here to pass the time
Excuse me sir can you spare a dime
I have dreams just like you
This is not what I planned to do
Life has a way of testing our will
All day long seems I'm walking up hill
When you pass me by or turn away
Or have something terrible to say
Remember my friend I was once like you
I had it all planned out
and knew just what to do
Anything can happen just you wait and see
One day sir you may be standing next to me

Yes, this is an outstanding, human poem.

Don't take this the wrong way, I don't think it is childish, I think this poem should be taught in schools. Humanity , empathy and compassion should be major curriculum, cheers, Jess
