Gemstones

Moonlight glistens on new fallen snow

A blanket of diamonds it will show

Sunlight sprinkles the ocean with

Yellow Sapphires and Aquamarine

Lush meadows come alive in shades of

Peridot, Garnet and Jade Green

A rose is but a Ruby on a slender stem

White fences trimmed with Lilacs reveal an amethyst hem

While the sky before a storm

Will turn a moonstone Grey

It can also resemble a fire opal

By the close of day
