Heads I Win Tails You Lose

The first time a Loser who ever won

He is just now staring down Crazy Eyed Joe's gun

A highly polished, pearl handled 44 Magnum

A full time loser; who has lost everything but, his wife

It was for sure; Joe was going to due him in

Because the Loser, had reached the fifty G mark again!

and

Joe knows; his people don't play!

The Loser begged and pleaded Joe; please don't take my life away!

Give me till tonight; I'll pay

Joe snarled; and grabbed up the Loser's wife

He said; I give you till three then she, belongs to me

and

You will be dead, when I find you around

This here gamblers town

No! Begged the Loser' let her go I'll pay even if it comes to my life

I'd; gladly pay

Shut up! Get out ! Get me my money!

with out a doubt

The Loser. tried and tried

He begged and pleaded; all his Friends, only shame could he find

They all said he had, lost his damned mind

2:45 am came around; back to Joe's, he would go

His wife sat neatly posed; in Joe's big leather chair

She said; look over there, there lied Joe, horrible mutilated

Dead on the floor

Then she said; and you don't gamble around here anymore

or

You will pay me!

You see; I don't Play!

About This Poem

About the Author

Region, Country: U.S. A. Indiana, Valparaiso, USA

Favorite Poets: Robert Frost, Walt Whitman, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Carl Sandburg these I have read some And so Many More. I have no Favorite or any that I dislike. Whom I consider to be poets; of course there are many Dark and hateful souls, who would cry out and to I will lend an ear, but some. They just leave a awful taste in my heart that I can not bear to read twice. Let alone as many times I would do normally; as I must.

what a twist

This can almost qualify as a short story I don't know why but this brought to mind a poem my dad used to recite The face on the barroom floor I believe D'Arcy wrote it chrys

Hi Chrys just remebered I didn't answer this I thought I did

I am sure I did there must be a grimlin in my fingertips for they sure do mess with my replies I came across this again twice today so I 'll try it again Thanks and sorry it has taken over a year to get you a response I haven't read to much poetry odd I like most of the stuff here but as to the Historical poets I don't follow them as well It ust be the langue they used it is different than today enough that it makes it harder for e to decifer I guess i should really take the time to learn more of these Poets and their works I have acquired some old books for the salvation army store and the Good will Store in town but sitting myself down to read them is not easy It puts me to sleep to read it is very taxing on my little brain But I could listen to some one read to me all day long.
