Boys Can Be the Victim

I know you think I led you on but still, The wounds you gave me will never heal. Internal gashes left to bleed, Leaving me completely empty. For what you took cannot be repaid, And now I am in need of extra aid. The dead of night, half asleep, Your hand slips under my covers, making me weak. You told everyone that I said yes, When I never would have agreed to this. I no longer have my virginity to give to my wife, You got what you wanted; now get out of my life. I can’t tell my parents, they have enough on their minds, This field of recovery is littered with landmines. Fuck you Nick, I hope you choke, Because you abused me, I am broke.

Brave stuff.

Wow, that is a brave poem, commendations to you. I liked the harsh endings to the final two lines, they really gave it a kick at the end. Kieran "Mind, how you go!" - Roger McGough's poem for LSD Awareness Week

Brave and powerful

The last lines are awesome. I applaud your spirit for posting this - it shows a survivors instinct! Nice work. :-) Kaz It's impossible to smile on the outside without feeling better on the inside.

It is a terrible thing

that there are so many of us who can relate to this piece. I am a rape victim and extremely proud of you both for writing this and posting it. Too many of us remain silent. Stay strong. You are a survivor. ~ Ronda

I swear

there are more poeple around that have been through this shit. I'm beginning to think it is a pre-requsite to dying and being re-born if a re-birth is at all possible. I know so many people with fucked up lives because even the most natural curiosities regarding sex are thought of and taught as evil. Evil is when they hurt to get what they want - their sick thrill! I applaud you Poet . . . I will always wonder where the evil comes from. I will never know as in my case the sick soul did himself - one less for this world to be concerned with. Joy and Peace Mark

Brutal...

I have found that a lot of men are coming forward with revelations at this site, which speaks to the strength of this site. Apart from a spelling error on " led " instead of " lead ", it's very powerful. Full of raw emotion, and the conflicted feelings one has for trying to stay a virgin and having that robbed. All you can do is gain strength from this ordeal ( easier said than done understood ). Poetry, and other art forms are a good release for the harsh feelings you are experiencing. Good luck on the journey to recovery you will get there I am sure.

Just a trivial correction

Not to deter from the seriousness of the poem and the comments, but I do have to make a quick editorial note here regarding j_h08's mention of a spelling error. In fact, "led" is spelled correctly; it is the past tense of "lead," which would make it the proper spelling in this case. Sorry, j_h08, I don't mean any offense, but I wanted to let the author know that no error had been made. I'm very particular about spelling myself, so I thought I should mention it. ~ Ronda

I admire and applaud

Your courage to come forward. Know that there are many of us that have suffered unspeakable abuse and we will listen anytime you need an ear. Just writing about it and bringing it to light should be of some help to you. It is amazing and tragic how many people have gone through this that I have heard of including myself. Makes one wonder how many are silent still I wish you well and am another pair of ears should you need them about anything , you wish to discuss Be well Chrys
