Determination
The day was gray and solemn
a gloom hung in the air.
And no one seemed to care.
I felt uneasy
as I searched around for a friend.
My breathing became labored
and the cold did chill my bones.
The pathway was made of stones,
and that helped my footing,
for to stumble, I could not afford.
I noticed up above me,
that the sky had lit up the night.
And my journey ahead seemed allright,
but I was lonely
even though I was finally free.
Now I have adjusted my pace,
to accommodate others I know.
Whose movements seem awkward and slow.
My legs feel renewed,
and a look of dertimination is worn upon my face.
