About This Poem

About the Author

Region, Country: U.S. A. Indiana, Valparaiso, USA

Favorite Poets: Robert Frost, Walt Whitman, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Carl Sandburg these I have read some And so Many More. I have no Favorite or any that I dislike. Whom I consider to be poets; of course there are many Dark and hateful souls, who would cry out and to I will lend an ear, but some. They just leave a awful taste in my heart that I can not bear to read twice. Let alone as many times I would do normally; as I must.

I had this planned out but, as usal

it didn't quite work out this way but it did eventually I couldn't get her to go into the snow till after she saw the ring which I had placed on a pepsi can in the ice box then I almost demanned she get me a pepsi but her friend was going to hand it to me so I acted all pissed off I said I wanted you to get it not for you to pass the buck even though her freind was right there standing by the icebox I made her get up and she was all pissy about till she realized why it was I did it took her a good few minutes to get that pepsi out of that ice box but I had waited four months to get it out layaway I couldn't wait to give it because I propossed actually at the jewlry store one night I just drug her over to the counter and said pick one She said yes that night. she'd most likly still being holding the door to the icebox if my old man didn't yell at her for holding the door to it open for so long and we went out TO the corner during a heavy snow and I did proposse the right way all over again then she made me take her straight home to ask for her hand For all her family was visiting I don't remember ever being more intemidate both sets of grandparents uncle and aunts mom and Dad all sitting on the couch staring at me because she ran in yelling Donnie has some thing to ask you dad Dry mouth and all those people Donnie/Sinbad I figured since I already proposed four months earlier she would have already told them go and figure she never said anything to them till that night

under the stage light of open skie

just absolutely loved this Sinbad! I love the streetlights too that glare the surrealness of their shadows cast the briefness of them wether one drives or walks and your story How wonderful and romantic a tale I see you live in the midwest i went through there once from Yellowstone to Kentucky across the Cincinatti bridge etc such a strange and forlorn land america thank you for this grand poem what a great read tonight for me O

A Memory to Comfort

Thank you. Nice! I especially appreciate the potent detail thrown about here, as, for instance: "like an old spotlight On a stage of white As the flakes whispered by my eyes" Very colorful. Evokes an image, prompts feelings. A nice piece of work. Yours, Chuck
