The Bush Rat and the Blair Cat

how long will we enjoy
our birth rights
of freedom of mind
freedom of speech
and freedom of movement

the ominous rant
of the stuttering bush rat
the smarmy smile
of the blair cat

in these hideously dark
and uncertain times
we have war mongering politicians
dancing upon our sanity
with their scripted banality
and we suffer the dictatorships
of the bushes and blairs
who dare to appear
as if they do care

the ominous rant
of the stuttering bush rat
the smarmy smile
of the blair cat

orchestrated by the unseen suits
we have the american 9/11
and the british 7/7
a delightful opera to those
hiding away and yet in the know
remember the old saying
their is no punch without show

the ominous rant
of the stuttering bush rat
the smarmy smile
of the blair cat

Yes...

Both leaders are well written about in very negative ways. This is highly original though. I seem to have memories of the previous tenants in both houses the one on 10 Downing Street, and the one on Pennsylvania Avenue being aggressive as well. Unfortunately, it is the price of doing business in a world going slowly mad. I am all for freedom of and freedom from religion, but I am against the current state of the extremists leading the true believers like lambs to the slaughter. Bush and Blair happened to be there when the can of worms became more well known. I do like the rhythm, the structure, and quite possibly the subtlety ( I hope ) of paranoia for losing freedoms. Unfortunately, the anti-Bush and anti-Blair works are mountain high and I would like to see more written on how Clinton and others inaction lead to the tragic days.

I agree

with your comments, however I think Clinton has been included in plenty of negative words(also Hilary); the press went overboard on the Monica situation(and still do). Personally speaking, I am ignorant to what Clinton was about, apart from Monica! Being British I tend to stay away from American politics, I made the exception with Bush as the guy is such an idiot; he does though put himself in the firing zone!

Harding...

Still the dumbest president America has ever had. Ford had his dumb moments as well. Now as far as Bush, it's scary but I think he confuses stubborness with resolve. He will go down as the most hated but certainly not the worst. As far as the Clintons go they still walk on water with our media it's repulsive to see them barely question those two glorified ambulance chasers. Well as far as 2008 goes whomever gets in the White House will talk about change but will not actually let it happen. As far as Monica, it was the absolute perfect way of derailing a federal investigation that had nothing to do with Bill's infidelities. I do enjoy your writing on this with the metaphors from Alice In Wonderland for the two leaders. Cheers.

The Cheshire Blair Cat Smiles

and quickly does a vanishing act leaving the mess to be cleared up or even exploited by Brown. Powerful observations my friend - I couldnt agree more..lol please don't get me started but the circus keeps rolling - for the worse I fear. Kaz It's impossible to smile on the outside without feeling better on the inside.
