Missing Socks

I can't help but wonder

why my socks aren't all there,

not my good pairs over my old ones

but, the right or left foot, as it were.

Also I'm having a time, of late

over a sillier thing in my head,

"I found the item in the last place I looked!"

Why is it, that that phrase is said?

Who would keep looking? It doesn't make sense.

It's a crazy sentence to say,

try it the next time you've found what was lost

and keep searching for it, anyway.

If I ever found all my missing stockings

I'd be so glad in my heart,

I think I'd be tempted to sew them together

so they'd never again come apart.

Third line good line but if phrased differently would fit the rhyme better this poem brought more than a smile , try a loud from the toes laugh it is so perfect I just read an article on this subject of "It's always the last place you look" well exactly why on earth would you look for something you already found this stanza brought the laughter on well done
