No Rhyme or Reason

Why, when the clown can make us all laugh

is he driven so easy to tears?

Or without pen and paper, or typewriter

is the writer at a loss for words?

It's true most statesmen master language, in full

but cannot carry a tune;

the skater is eloquent with movements a blur,

but own feet unable to dance.

The multi-tasker in management, and business admin.

can't conjure compassion, when asked;

and the preacher that speaks of a world without sin

can commit the worst sin of them all.

The answer is simple, we're all just human,

not one is above irony;

we're all at a loss, in some regard;

perfection's a ring that's ungrasped.

"Well-rounded" as people, is strived for-and yet;

those are lofty ideals at best.

The only thing that's contageous in us

is our ability to pass on a yawn.
