Sooty

gritty skyline grimed

breathe static oxygen

particular taste

sedimentary sight

where were we...

when the towers

Belch Poof Soot ?

smuted paint job

clingy tainted air

particular  smell

sedimentary feel

here we are....

as the towers

Belch Poof Soot!

this gives me

a faint feeling of deja vu, thinking of eliot's "the hollow men"; one feels between the lines of this rather abstract but effective poem the alienated quality of our civilization, particularly the urban landscape. i wonder if i'm just speculating here, since we all live in the same diseased consumerist political climate, but does "Belch Poof Soot" have anything to do with the ill-fated World Trade Center? at any rate, a neat poem, in the cubist tradition, picasso-abstract.

Thank You Quills...Towers regard industry

and their push to open the air for pollution. The EPA is letting the evidence wash off and yes the towers sadly brought the issue back a bit for now but air quality is a hazard in deed, there are other things in this as well as grime about clouded things that are excepted as is...but somehow we take our eyes off the particulars and they accumulate to grime. The allusion ...

both to pollution and the towers, so slant ... and indirect ... come stronger from the side than if it comes direct. You do the subject(s) justice. Thanx for that. Yours, Chuck

The Towers are still coming down...

I cried when the day after i read Quills comments I thought how did that get in there and then it hit me the dust is still killing people and I get the residue in fine print in the back pocket page of a news paper...Great to hear from you Chuck. This had to be the fouth time you and Quills have pulled my poems subconcious angles and that means a lot to me. A Thing ...

I like about you that contributes to make your work(s) special: your sensitive heart. It comes evident ... and glows ... at times sunning through the center, at times shining around edges and peeking past corners of your written creations ... but it's there ... even when on occasion it may be barely visible. Sometimes boldly blatant and sometimes just the gentle hint of it ... but it's there just the same. It's who you are. Chuck
