The Poet

I answer back ambiguously

 whenever possible,

it matters not, the topic

if the imagery is full;

I am the poet.

Adjectives and adverbs

are staples to the art,

the ending and the middle

merely amplify the start;

I am the poet.

Lengthy exaggerations

lend creedence to a style,

that obliterate a subject

which sometimes brings a smile;

I am the poet.

Quirkiness enhances

what's seemingly miopic,

as I scramble through the verbage

to pick apart each topic;

I am the poet.

I'll argue to the death, a point

sarcastically, with "sass"...

..and if you disagree with me

I'll prove that you're an ass;

I am the poet.

The Poet

Adjetives and adverbs are staples to the art, the ending and the middle merly amplify the art loved this.I didn't care for the ending, I think it took away from the piece. Not an expert, see what others have to say

The ending...

..was made from a choice of two. What finally tipped the scales was a remark made to me from another poet, about another poem, that was biased and unfair. I agree, that it was probably a poor choice...so there's "the rub". Thank you for your kind words, though. docmaverick.
