Me, me, me

I am stupid and useless

and smell

and have a terrible personality

and everyone hates me.

I am intelligent, talented,

witty and charming

and everyone craves my company.

Or something.

A paradox

A paradox, expressed extremely well. I can relate. Nicely done. :-) Kaz It's impossible to smile on the outside without feeling better on the inside.

Tit for tat either or

Nice but I like the one my kids use when they taunt each other goes something like this Whane everybody hates me nobody likes me I guess I'll go sit in the corner and eat worms They don't every come back the the other side though I guess that would not make any sense to their taunt but this is a visa versa Ideal neat

i think everyone

can have days where they feel both are true simultaneously, and both emotions can seem quite authentic--which by extension makes the reality and truth of our intuitions very questionable. i don't know--you're good enough, you're smart enough, and god darnit, people like you, jess.

Thank you both,

self-esteem is seldom an issue with me these days. Although the poem is true, I still feel both sides, most mornings I wake up glad to be Jess. cheers, Jess

Your positives would be

Your positives would be useless if you did not have your negatives to compare them to. I loved this, though this is something that crossed my mind just so many times around. Dhruv
