Your Smile

I've tasted of a nectar so sweet

as to rinse away all pain,

and leave the pallette satisfied.

I've never known great fortune

but it would pale in it's gloss...

..next to your smile.

Aromas exist that can cause the heart to soar

in anticipation of their treat,

and with a solitairy heart...

..I can greet the splendor of the dawn,

and not feel alone...

..if I could see your smile.

Picture the song that speaks pure joy,

the tune that both haunts and completes you;

and you will know my bliss.

For in all the Universe,

I'd need nothing at all...

..when I'm allowed your smile.

Your Smile

This is a lovely poem. The imagery is great with very nice descriptive phrases. I especially liked the first two lines. "I have tasted nectar so sweet, As to rinse away all pain", and the entire last verse. I think those lines are sad, but filled with hope and love. It is a very emotional poem. This is a very good love poem, in my humble opinion. Thanks much for sharing it.
