she wore her burka white with lipstick

So many ways
to watch them
        The pages,

the ones that come in front

so that the fires
get colored
ink

reminding me all of the world
is still there
       there are tvs
lined up in restaurants
newsflash after commericals
after countless interruptions,
                                  of what we are.

of that growing.

and me left with no
        way to speak back

to leave a hello
        between now
and the next     blast
of schrapnel that is more flesh
                                than car,

of scraps and cloth
and voices who are always

ready.

Both your strong ...

writer's bent---and your artistic sensitivities---fly right. Your a cappella peals. Well done and with a perfect (either that, or near-perfect) pitch. I appreciate your spareness. Don't need background music. It's just fine without it. Too many words provide redundance. You don't. A good thing. The spareness makes reading your works more worthwhile than otherwise. A pleasure. Yours, Chuck
