Reality

Whispers of unspoken love keep her there Captivated by the inevitably impossible Adrift in that composed sea of chaotic dreams Where the tides sing the lullaby, she desires “Waver not sweet Queen, for he comes by night And knight he is, that much is a constant”, Her smiles chose to hide behind inventive lips Coy and seductive as only she could be She waits, alone and crowded by her hopes

Enigmatic

Like a whisper, a dream; ephemeral. These are the words that come to my mind. ~ Ronda

I think this expresses a yearning better than anything I've read. The mediaeval references help to make it a little Arthurian tale in miniature. Certainly the reader must want to know the maiden better, to concur with her hopes and must wish the 'knight of the night' God speed. I really loved this - beautiful. Mike

a tale of the ages...

For as far back in history as I have looked, all literature seems to cover some aspect of this 'damsel in distress'. For me the 'Reality' of it is that women take the man they have and pick it apart. Rebuilding in 'their' minds eye what they want out of said man and in the end she has set herself up for failure.(meaning of the last line) Not all women are so easily tempted by evil ways though... "For every shadow, no matter it's depth, is threatened by the morning's light..." <3 Emarie
