Welcomed

Gratifying for me to believe,
I am a part  of Life here and now...
and in death the cycle continues.

And as I granulate into this fine Earth,
happy with the knowledge...

I too, will be embraced by the system,
and as all before me...
Welcomed.

Great Poem on a Great Topic...

Wow -- I loved this, because it touched on a topic I've always found very fascinating. It is somehow comforting to realize we are all so connected and intertwined with the earth, via the cycle of life and death. The dead are returned to the earth to fertilize, the earth then yields food and trees, the food provides nourishment and trees provide shade for the living, who then die and return to earth, etc.
