Great Lakes

It can tap the shore

licking small toes

quickly build to a

thunderous roar,

exposing it's sinful side

to ships that go awry.

Driven by nature

never in complete control

of it's disposition.

Wicked

Melodic

Serene

Great Lakes

never predicted.

perfect description

I've been on the beaches of the Great Lakes and you've described them so perfectly that I can remember the feel of them beneath my feet! You've made a mistake that is very common. "It's" is the contraction for "it is." The correct spelling for the possessive form is "its." I still catch myself doing the same thing every so often! ~ Ronda

Hi janice...

I loved your poem. I had a chance a couple of years ago to visit Niagara Falls. It was incredible. The lakes are something to see. Thank you for posting and taking me back.
