Drizzled Images
I daydream sitting in a
misshapen leather chair,
one that will never again
hold his shape and rock
aimlessly . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Silk ties hang lifeless on the rack
his smells still engulf them
I stroke the blue one
a teardrop falls, disappears
into oblivion . . . . . . . . . . . .
The bathroom mirror
has poessession of
shaving cream splatters
shoes sit by the back door
dog sniffs them hoping
for a glimpse.
Telephone holds messages
of condolences . . . . . . . . . .
I slide the black dress
over my cold body, and shiver.
Drive in blizzard to shed tears
Black and white collide.
