Drizzled Images

I daydream sitting in a

misshapen leather chair,

one that will never again

hold his shape and rock

aimlessly . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Silk ties hang lifeless on the rack

his smells still engulf them

I stroke the blue one

a teardrop falls, disappears

into oblivion . . . . . . . . . . . .

The bathroom mirror

has poessession of

shaving cream splatters

shoes sit by the back door

dog sniffs them hoping

for a glimpse.

Telephone holds messages

of condolences . . . . . . . . . .

I slide the black dress

over my cold body, and shiver.

Drive in blizzard to shed tears

Black and white collide.

Yes I agree

This was painful to read - in a good way. The emotion is felt strongly and the story told well. It might be worth checking through again for spelling errors. I found one:- poessession should be possession? There may be more. This 'took me there'. The images were crystal clear. I look forward to seeing more. Kaz It's impossible to smile on the outside without feeling better on the inside.

You are right on about the funeral, But I have to admit I lied my way to the truth, for all that is written is not true thanks for the comment!

I enjoyed your poem very much-except the last line doesn't seem to fit IMHO-suggest taking a look at that one again-otherwise a very poignant piece and well done! LadyTheresa
