The Day Off

I'm taking the day off!

I know it's a crazy thing to do,

considering that I don't really work, and all.

And, I'm not a student...officially, anyway.

Though I am still learning things.

I believe we're all students of the Universe.

But, not today! For I'm taking the day off!

Firstly, I'll need to take out an ad.

I simply have to make it official.

People deserve to know of such a significant schedule change.

I wouldn't want to be the reason for confusion,

or tilt the scales of the Universe!

I sure wouldn't want some more gravity,

Pulling too harshly, 

or worse yet, not enough.

Stranger things have happened.

It's just that I haven't had a day off,  

since before I was retired!

I really believe that I am due.

REALLY , really due.

I'm not planning anything else,

thought I might just take a nap,

or maybe catch up on some things. Some reading, and maybe,

 I'll just putter around the house. I dunno.

 I've forgotten what it's like to have a day off.
