Night and Day

The shrouded mask known as the night is here.

Not only  does it steal away the color,

and add grayish hues to the shadows,

it also mocks me...

..and torments me.

The flickering light from the image screen,

ends up being my only companion.

That, and the cold dampness.

so much do my bones ache,

as I sit up all alone.

Even the feline entities that share my world

are asleep like furry children, after a long day.

I could join them but it's much too late,

to take the pill...

..that leaves that hangover.

Tomorrow, rather today...I will do my best to smile,

but truly it will be most dificult.

For the day tends to only add color to my horror,

for it also mocks me...

..and torments me.
