The Magic

The leaves have started falling

like minutes from the clock,

covering all I want and need
and dissipating...
like the fog.

I want to swim through every apple tree,

I want to climb the ocean's breeze,

I want to feel the love I know I need,

I need the magic back with me.

The colors of the leaves this year

seem brighter than they should.

I wish I knew just what to do... if I did,

perhaps I would...

content but not too happy,

intended for much more.

Complexities
the biggest part of me,

needing love's allure.

I am the painter with no canvas,

and I can't find my favorite pen.

I want to feel the warmth inside of me,

I need the magic back again.

brilliant writing!!!

This touched my every sense and cleansed away the muck I have been wading in...thanks for the hand. I hope with this you understand that your magic blazed a trail across this page...good luck with the realization process!!! "For every shadow, no matter it's depth, is threatened by the morning's light..." <3 Emarie Photo: My mother and daughter Londyn (her first christmas this year!!!) I love the subtle cues of love...look at my moms hand hehe thank God for photograph

Enjoyable

The leaves have started falling like minutes from the clock, covering all I want and need and then, dissipating.. like the fog. What a great way to start. You have really captured the magic. Best wishes

Richard The Magic is always there my friend. You do not always need a a canvas as we poets can paint pictures with our words. hang in there maggie Electricblue

hey,

still can't find your pen huh? that's too bad. I had a favorite pen.. ran out of ink when my mom borrowed it. I have a lot of pens.. but no favorites. a lot of notebooks, none of them filled. I always seem to find a new one I love then leave the old notebook in the dust. so my poems are pretty scattered. the magic.. I feel like my magic is gone as well. I don't know where, why or when it went, so I don't really know how to get it back. I think it comes when it thinks you're worthy. deciding you're not going to survive without it, so it invites you to its pity party. lovely poem man. kudos!

Magic is sometimey...

sometimey its here and... actually I think it is with us all the time... it is just a matter of getting it stirred up enough to lend it's pen that holds us back... thank you my friend Richard

what drew me to this piece

were the paradoxons in ll. 6&7. They are brilliant! Minor inconsistency there in ll.10&11: Shouldn´t it be: The color of the leaves this year/seems brighter than it should? With all due respect, ID

Ink Dragon...

I thank you for reading and commenting and you are right... there is something amiss in that sentence... if I add an "s" to color I think that will fix it... let me know... I appreciate you catching it... thanks Richard

Yeah, that elusive magic...

Believe I know what you mean. More frustrating to have felt it & lost it than never to have "climbed the oceans' breeze" at all, though... At least then you don't know what you're missing! Very enjoyable write. Jo

Hey

I´ve just noticed that my favourite pen is gone. I strongly suspect my dog of having eaten it. Maybe he thought it was a bone? Annoyed about this futile search, ID
