Sunshine in the Rain

I spied a fortune of enjoyment in a smile, today...

..as well as a pair of eyes that wrinkled in their corners,

arced-ever so slightly,

and imitated that pair of lips...

..in much the same way.

A smile.

I heard a giggle that spawned a bit of laughter on this same day,

and the spontaneous eruption,

both-surprised and delighted me,

for one person was the cause of all three!

What a happy light, did spray from this one's lamp !

For their actions changed a pair of quiet eyes content,

into two dancing orbs of giddiness,

two flower petals,

into a complete, spontaneous garden,

and the cadence of a quiet brook,

into the thunderous roar of a water-fall !

And now, that all is quiet once again,

happiness still stirs in the waters of life...

..and so blessed are we, that we were allowed to share in the symphony,

that started with the outburst of a giggle,

and a smile that gave grace to the day.

How lovely is the day that includes sunshine....in the rain.

I really enjoyed

reading this Doc. You captured the moments brilliantly - and the images were clear. Just watch your spelling - weild or wield? I really like these lines:- For their actions changed a pair of quiet eyes content, into two dancing orbs of giddiness, two flower petals, into a complete, spontaneous garden, and the cadence of a quiet brook, Kaz It's impossible to smile on the outside without feeling better on the inside.

I guess...

..if one disects something completely enough, it DOES become "spiritual"...in a sense. I gotta tell ya though, Mark.....I've REALLY been struggling, of late. OOoppss...there goes my "spirituality"..even as we speak!{:-) Doc.

Doc, I have to stop treating you as a mentee

and acknowledge you are a fine poet in your own right. Which incidentally means my crits might get harsher! 8) My only problem with this piece is the line "What a mighty sword did this individual wield." Sword is a potent symbol for violent power, male power, but did you really mean that? Perhaps another way of expressing her power. cheers, Jess wishing you a Salubrious Solstice

Off the first read

and the first impression which overpowered my initial responce to that part and down deeper and back to it. I felt and feel even stronger the same way as Jess in that there seems to be some confusion there. She holds the mighty sword, or, I suppose as it did with me one might even dwell to "the almighty sword" You may want to adjust that line or some may wonder, Who's almighty sword was she weilding? I wonder if you can express her power in that line in a way where she is not wielding a mighty sword. Don't ask why I assume she I just do lol Just a bit more perception and hopefully helpful, Mark Joy and Peace
