Coming from Hell Smoking

Running Red Lights all the way

Echoes of "Get the Fuck Out."

follow with a stench of sulfur

look as close as you dare

for a smirk upon the face

of the very soul that pissed

in the River of Styx fouling it

attitude so intense that

even Death got a twist

in his velvety knickers

without a doubt now

there is no realm

to hold this grotesque

abomination

Right under the noses

of the masses something

BETTER THEN EVIL BECAME!

ignored it  grew eating fear

and comparing notes

this thing is bored by "evil"

For me emptiness, absence is

For me emptiness, absence is worse than evil. Sulphur smells better than nothing. "even Death got a twist in his velvety knickers" ... my friend that's truly priceless! Awesome

This has me rolling with laughter. Cleverly written with some excellent sinister images to balance the humour. Evil and death by knickers? As Meic says - priceless. :-) Kaz It's impossible to smile on the outside without feeling better on the inside.

clever and raw

Some view honesty itself as evil. They are the type who would never understand this poem. As the subject line says, clever and raw. ~ Ronda

Welcome Back Ronda

Humans try to pass every thing they don't want to deal with as evil...when something that is evil gets them it really spooks them...(Laughs Nervously...) In ink, David

It's a relative term

What is evil to one may be fascinating to another, so says the poet who has always preferred darkness to light. Shhhh...they'll hear you laughing.... ~ Ronda

comments on "Coming from Hell Smoking"

I hope you meant this to be humorous, because I got a good laugh out of it. The second verse has very good imagery--I could see some soul "Pissing" in the river Styx. I have a personal negative feeling about one of the terms you used, so don't take it personally because it is not a criticism of the poem. I just hate the term,"the masses." It makes people sound so common. Otherwise, I really thought this was a great poem. Thanks for sharing. Pat

Humor with a twist sinister

perhaps masses refers to a religious gathering. You are right that words like mass confusion implies common confusion. The humor in darker shades of gray thank you for noticing. In ink, Dabbler

I'm not sure about "common"

Personally, "the masses" does not imply common confusion to me. When I read it I sense a sardonic quality of referring to the people who would ignore evil, denying its presence until it is held right beneath their noses. In this poem the reference seems to regard those who are blinded by their own ignorance and close-minded opinions. But that's just me! ~ Ronda
