Can It Be?

So awesome grandly great are we,

Us delightful Michiganders

In our home so shared in season

With superb Canadian ganders

And wild forest turkey gobblers.

Gosh, oh, gee!

So can it be?

As practically anyone

Not blind can see,

We northern humans suffer ...

From obesity.

So hungrily we come

To table sweet

(So what? Oh, well! Oh, well!

Who cares? And what the hell!)

To choose the sweetlings---

And those artificial fats---

That we grossly overeat ...

Until we painful die from

Negligently

Unprevented tragedy.
