Few people realise that Satanism is a perversion of Christianity - most think it is an offshoot of Wiccan [paganism]. The evidence is in the use of the inverted cross, a male dominated 'priesthood' and perversions of the scaraments. Sadly the people who follow this sect are frequently deluded and often up to no good. The 'horned god' of pagan derivation - the consort of the triple goddess - is simply the masculine principle incarnate, and is entirely benign in nature. doubt Satan took Anton Lavey or his followers very seriously. No one else did. I'm Catholic and have yet to be offended by a Satanist. They have no understanding of theology and are, largely, goofballs. Occasionally drugged out and dangerous goofballs, but I put that more down to being drugged out and dangerous than to Satan. Spot on!
