The Demon Sleep

Style/type Grazzii2

The Demon Sleep

I venture reluctant to my bed
the things I should have done instead
treat me to a night of dread
I lie awake

Some say stay still and get some rest
Just get comfy in your nest
All things work out for the best
I say fuck ‘em

You don’t know what it’s like to lie there
trapped in sleeplessness’s snare
dreaming wide awake aware
I medicate.

You would too

Insomnia - whatever the

Insomnia - whatever the cause is so debilitating. I suffer sproadically from 'restless legs syndrome' which can be purgatory! A pithy and pointed piece of work. Indeed. Mike

It is 2.20 a.m.

and you see where I am. Even after medication. Proof that it doesn't always do its damned job. When you write about these things, I identify. Still, I find myself wondering if you couldn't make these pieces more powerful (and believing that you could). Always my best, Ronda

You know

upon a second read, I see insomnia as the demon here. How can you blame sleep when insomnia is in its way? Sleeplessly, Ronda

I hear you on this one. I hate when the light comes out and I finally notice its 10 am after a while. When someone tries to fall asleep for over 8 hours sleep begins to feel like both a chore and a trap.
