This old shack

She said what she did not mean,

But to him She'd said  enough,

They were angry words that were not seen,

For his heart was blind and tough,

He left that day to never look back,

She was just a sillouette in a rundown old shack,

But much as he tried he couldn't shake her from his mind,

Her lips moist and tender, her eyes bright and kind,

And she waited and she waited and she tended that old shack,

For she knew deep in her heart that he was coming back.

Lovely sentiment....

of old time romance. Sadly it does not work this way often today. Angry words are spoken and no hope of coming back is possible. I know from experience. Nicely done, Lacy! :) Patrick/AO

Thank you for your lovely comment .We need to be reminded of a time when love overcame everything. She knew he would come back for he was her husband and they were in love and vows and promises were made and spoken. For words are a binding thing, and so many forget it. Lacy, Where power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
