There I found her
Completely bare
All but a single jade shroud
Auburn hair sprawling in an angelic tangle
Wild eyes burst wide
Like through supernova her soul fled
Skin as pale as a moon-kissed moth
Garnet lips parted in a scream of truth
As sticky black tears streaked her beauty
As I knelt to caress her cool existence
Her soul found my own
And with phantom hands she held my heart
Grace so pure for someone not so whole
From part of another she was built
Yet she found her way to her own departure
Lain at the foot of wisdom she lingered
Red deliciousness had once been her downfall
And is now her only anchor to this life
She came here with a heavy heart
True intentions only dreamed
Thus with a crimson kiss she died
Her soul forever held captive by her sins
She was on her way down after all
What was one more bite..

Beautifully Crafted

I really enjoyed reading this. The imagery is beautiful and the emotion clearly felt. You 'took me there'. Excellent - this is an awesome poem. Kaz It's impossible to smile on the outside without feeling better on the inside.

The beauty of poetry [imho]

The beauty of poetry [imho] is that it can do much than visual art - for example, on reading this piece three times I added another layer to my visualisation each time. I say that though I have enjoyed making pictures for some time. If you're curious about my pictures [there is one of Eve coincidentally!] you can see them at http:www.flickr/photos/7911705@N07 As always your is superbly constructed and has such depth. Hwyl fawr! words shade my lines

a new depth i have now found in your words friend!!! thank you so much for sharing this with me!!! my grandmother is a painter and when i expressed my trouble with painting to her she said, "the lines are made of colored words, and as in poetry, each has its place..." i am an extremely visual person and the difficulty i have in relating that with my hands is more than frustrating but when i see that there are those of us that have both the skill of pen and brush, i am intrigued!!! Eve is lovely btw...and perhaps one day i will be brave enough to take brush to hand and we shall see what comes...until then thank you again for sharing this with me!!! <3 Emarie

Yes I loved this one

I have an appreciation for all your poems that I have read and heard so far. I love the last five lines. You have a great talent for ending your poems in a powerful and dramatic way: "True intentions only dreamed Thus with a crimson kiss she died Her soul forever held captive by her sins She was on her way downward after all What was one more bite" I, however, hold a different view of Eve to you, they were destined to eat of the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. However can a commandment be upheld by a being with no concept of good and evil. It's the same with cain and abel to the story of Judas Iscariot and his part in the betrayal of Christ. Not to get all heavy over religion but these things were all preordained, thus written and meant tobe. Besides it wasn't just Eve who was tempted into doing what she should not have done. Adam had two wives who preceeded the creation of Eve. The first being Lilith, I'm sure you've heard of her, she's kind of the bad girl of Judaic myth. She argued with Adam over sexual rights, and then quite literally not to take the subservient part in sexual congress, that is to take the it in the missionary position, which from her perspective inferred for her tobe inferior to Adam, and as they were both created from the clay to her mind surely they were equal. So upon recieveing no asistance from God in this matter she uttered the ineffable name of God and transformed herself into an owl and flew away. To bed down beneath the red sea, believed at the time tobe a spawning place of demons. The second wife, who had no name, barely gets a mention, and none in the bible, she was constructed in the presence of Adam, of bone and tissue and bowels and organs, and so on, but as he'd witnessed the creation, no matter how beautiful she appeared on completion, all he could see was the foulness beneath, there's also a legend that her skin was translucent. Until third time lucky God created Eve. And we all know how that ended. My point being that the events preceeding the fall were all destined, and there was no real sin at all, life is what we make of it. That said, sorry about the Blurb, I was utterly delighted by your poem. I've listened to all of your spoken word poem recordings. Keep it up, because you've got talent. Love Dalton.

i do not think our opinions of her differ very much at all...you see i think of Eve much like i think of myself...she had a role to play and no matter how wrong the playing of it was/is, she did it with flare and of course using the oh so wonderful powers of seduction was just icing on the cake...my thoughts are that she became lost outside of that place where she laid the destruction, as it were...she simple had to have just one more bite...as to say "im already going to hell in a hand basket...why not have a pretty bow on top" Thanks for reading! i really do respect your work! <3 Emarie _________________________________________________________________________________ "i read you and see…that between the pen, paper and you…there is little room for me…" ~ heart breaker~ Go Live & Get Rewarded!!! Dear Lady Blue

Dear Blue, all I meant to say was I don't believe that Adam and Eve were meant for the confines of the gates of hell. That Original sin is just a sly metaphor for evolution. In that as some philosophers have stated that Eve, that is the soul, not only the abstract thinking part of the humam entity, whereas Adam was the active, whereas Eve was the subconscious, torn from Adam the physical part of the human entity, in the form of the rib. Enough blurb, all I meant to say was that I don't believe that Adam and Eve were bound for hell, because there Sin was only in the evolution of the human entity, in that before eating of the apple, how could they have the knowledge that God's commandment was final, how could they even have any understanding of this. For he that increases knowledge increases suffering. The part that I love is that they, the first lovers, are one, one flesh and always shall be. They deserve a place in the stars like the ancient Greek gods. We should be able to gaze the heavens by night and point and say look do you see the lovers. Love Dalton.
