The Nature of the Beast

People should really test the waters, before trying to walk on them.

I could see that, having an ego that large-might prove to be beneficial for one's profile, or stature...

..unless, of course...one's aquaintences and associates began offering up hats, and other miscellaneous headgear,

to symbolize some superiority. For the "rub" there, could be a hat collection that perpetually, will not fit !

But, if that would be so...what reaction would define you? That the "head-honcho", so to speak...

..should go on a fat-head diet? Or measure your fellow's heads and give said "head-garb" out for holidays and bribes?

Soo..much more clever, are we all indeed. Point being; whatever situation you're handed in life,

make it your goal to react with agility, and even-handed superiority.

Otherwise, your shadow may balk at even being sewn,

to a pair of feet that are barely your own. I do have one solid observation.

Be as cat-like in your responses as can lawfully be. For it's the true nature of every beast,

to "puff-up" proudly, when a "move" comes to fruition.

But, in that same regard, a knee-jerk reaction that pans-out.....NOT!

Will...atleast, leave you hoping no-one saw,

and, at best-leave you finding comfort...with your tail between your legs...

..unless.....you share the nature of the beast...the beast that is the "Cat".

Not that cats think things through, any better...react any more brilliant...or respond with any more clarity...because they don't!

But, where the feline beast DOES excell in each moment,

is in their ability to prepare for ANY outcome,

appearing very superior,

and executing their well-rehearsed shrug of detachment,

with a look that says....."I MEANT....to do that."

This is the "polished",  nature of the beast.

Beware, however.....

..for that's ALSO the "unpolished",  politician.

Bravo!

it feels to me that as you get clean off that drug of rhyme your clarity, perceptions and insight all increase. In others of your works when you use the second person it sometimes sounds preachy, this feels more like sound insight from a good friend. cheers, Jess
