Rejected

In your eyes I will never be up to par On my skin you became an unhealed scar You said that my dream was a waste of time I tried to see how as I invested my every dime The criticizing seemed to be on quite a rise My emotions must have hit you like a surprise You looked at me as if I did you wrong You said that my determination is not that strong A teacher that denied me a chance to achieve Some kind of answer I have yet to receive Was I a failure or were you sure I would fail Sorry to tell you that this here ship set sail No words or actions can steer my direction I laugh at the finger pointing and rejection You said no but something within said yes My dreams were pursued with little stress I put my pen to work as you looked the other way From my word I will never find the courage to walk away I could walk with a smile but I’d rather keep walking On a path of impossible dreams and not trash talking
